Flight connections:

Basel/Mulhouse (~ 1 h, Bus)
The closest airport with good bus connection is Basel/Mulhouse (CH/F),(cheap airlines: www.easyjet.com). Go out of the French exit, there is a direct bus to Freiburg/Breisgau main station. The bus leaves every 90 min, and takes 60 min to Freiburg.

Baden Airport (~ 2 h Bus/train)
Airport with some cheap flights from London, Dublin, Barcelona, Marseille, Pisa or Rome. (For the flights from London there is a direct bus to Freiburg only on work days). Another option is to take a bus to Baden-Baden main station and then the train to Freiburg.  Trains: www.bahn.de

International Airport Frankfurt (~ 2,5 h, train)
T there are direct trains from the airport (Frankfurt Flughafen) to Freiburg/Breisgau main station every hour. www.bahn.de.
Many international airlines serve this airport.

Frankfurt/Hahn ( ~ 4 h, Bus than train)
Has cheap airlines (ryanair), There is a bus from Frankfurt/Hahn to Frankfurt airport, from where you can go on.

International Airport Stuttgart (~ 2,5h, train)
Cheap airlines check www.germanwings.com besides many other airlines.
Here you take the S-Bahn to the main station and then the ICE train to Freiburg. (www.bahn.de)

Strassburg (France, 3 h, Bus and train)
You have to take a bus to the main station and then take a train to Freiburg. This train connection is not well developed, see www.bahn.de

International Airport Zürich (Suiss,~ 2,5 h, train).
The airport has a direct main station. Trains to Freiburg/Breisgau over Basel. There are trains almost every hour, see www.sbb.ch.

International Airport München ( ~ 5 h, Bus and train)
Take first the bus to the main station and then the ICE to Freiburg/Breisgau via Karlsruhe, see www.bahn.de

Only round trip are that cheap and you have to take the exact train. There is only a little amount of these cheap tickets better to book in advance!
